Book of Shadows

Now for those who don't know a witches Book of Shadows or B.O.S. is where all spells, potions, information, and just about anything else pertaining to her/his practice is kept. It is a nice way to keep all your information in one place so it can be referenced later. Covens often have a cumilative one for when they meet to do magic.

I am trying to find a good blank book for my personal Book of Shadows in which I will write all of my own spells, potions, chants, and other stuff. I have just finished designing one especially for all the information that I have gained through the internet.

Here is a picture of it:

Anyway...I was wondering if any of you have a special Book of Shadows. So do you?

Thanks a lot! What does your Book of Shadows look like? Do you you organize it a certain way? I've very curious as to how other people make their BOS.

My Book of Shadows is decorated with vine like drawings and a pentagram in the middle of it. No, I don't have a certain way of organizing it. I do have a friend who has a mother who is a witch, I can ask her if she has a certain way of organizing her Book of Shadows.

Haha. I don indeed have a book of shadows though, I don't really call it that. I call it my energy work notes. It is a little notebook I obtained a while ago and when I started energy working I repurposed the empty notebook for my notes on what I was learning. I don't use it so much recently as I seem to be pretty good at remembering the information but, I think I;ll put it into use as a good record keeper.

Yes I do...but I call mine my Book of Magick. It's a loose leaf notebook I had specially made by an online company who specialize in personalized items...it's decorated with full moon photos I took with my trusty little digi-cam! I don't have it arranged in any special way...like a journal mostly dating the tops of pages of entries or poems I've written or thoughts for the day. I have my wand wood listed in there and all my pagan/Wiccan books I have read listed.

@Paige That sounds really pretty! I've always loved vines. I would love if you asked your friends mother. Also point her to my blog if you wouldn't mind. ;) Thanks.

@Zach I know you do a lot of energy work and so do I. Okay well less lately. It's good to keep records for reference.

@Chefette That sounds pretty nice! So you keep yours like a journal. Very interesting.

By the way you all can send me via email anything you want to. I can post pictures of your books here or your poems and other writing. My email can be found at the bottom of the main page.

I think when I start mine it will be a 3 ring binder. This way I can add and take out stuff when ever I want.

Well, I have to say even though I have quite a few "fancy" books, the one I use is a three-ring binder, which I have separated into sections. Also, I have used this as a exercise in creativity as I gather my spells and such from other books and write them as I need them. I used the binder that has a way to insert a picture of your liking, and of course, I have used fairies. I have spent much time creating this and have thoroughly enjoyed it and I do from time to time look within for insights. Enjoy the journey !

@ A.B. The one I posted a picture of is a binder. It does seems more convenient. By the way your profile picture is lovely! I love the woods.

@Artsings Yes! Look within! I love how you included fairies. I hope you don't mind if I do too! ;D I want to find a fancy book but haven't had much luck. I do like my stuff to have a certain asthetic feel if it's going to be my own personal book.
